RedJeep has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hello friends,

I am working on a rather simple web site. Windows IIS Perl CGI. I have a SQLite3 database to collect use information (Name, address, etc.). I encrypt user passwords with Argon... so good there. The question is how do I best secure the database itself? I have read up on different opensource/vendor solutions to encrypt but those are mostly structured around C# or seem overly complex. I have read up on password protecting SQLite3 databases but I can't tell if that just applies a simple password access or actually encrypts the database. I am hoping to hear from some of you as to how you protect SQLite3 databases in similar circumstances? I know I should move on from CGI but the site is only like seven pages.

I appreciate your insight and help.
